La Cátedra UNESCO de Sostenibilidad de la Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña, es la segunda cátedra UNESCO más antigua a nivel mundial, y es el nodo coordinador de la red UNESCOSost.
El nodo Colombia parte de la oficina que se constituyó con la alianza con el Tecnológico de Antioquia (TdeA) Institución Universitaria, en el año 2008, siendo la sede más antigua en América Latina de UNESCOSost.
El nodo en Brasil se constituye en el 2012 de forma provisional, a partir del IGEO en la Universidade Federal da Bahia, en Salvador, Bahía. A partir del noviembre del 2013, se constituye como sede formal UNESCOSost.

El Laboratorio de Medida y Modelización de la Sostenibilidad (SUMMLab) es un grupo multidisciplinar de investigación establecido en el 2011, involucrado en la medida y modelización en diferentes ámbitos de la ciencia de la sostenibilidad.
The best practices will be collected and analysed following a common format, enabling the reader to understand the solutions adopted and clearly highlighting the parameters and possibilities for replication and up-scaling. The best practices are taken from a global city base including, Barcelona, Medellin, Adelaide, Copenhagen, Seoul, and Accra.
The distinctiveness of the RESILIENT CITIES Book Series is its international dimension, coupled with a multidisciplinary and a cross sectorial approach.
The RESILIENT CITIES Book Series will be a unique and fundamental resource for practitioners, policy makers and scientists involved in planning and governing the transition of cities. It presents the latest and up-to-date systematized information on research, practices and policies development, defining clear means and pathways for replication and up-scaling.
THE BOOKS

THE CALL
We invite researchers and practitioners from a wide-range of disciplines and sectors to submit their contributions to these books, in the form of analytical and descriptive models, conceptual-based/literature review, empirical studies, case-based studies, and solution approaches that can effectively manage the complex challenges of urban resilience under the specific themes of the books.
We invite contribution in the following formats:
Articles (AR). The AR are aimed to advance the theoretical understanding of the specific themes, and to give an integrated overview of key issues and topics within the scope of the book. The articles will be between 5.000 and 7.500, words each. (template)
Case Studies – Long Format (CS-LF). The CS-LF are aimed to describe good practices, already realized or in advanced stage of completion, particularly using an integrated approach. The case studies CS-LF shall focus on lessons learned and on the potential for replication/upscaling. Each Case Studies will be between 5.000 and 7.500, words in total. (template)
All submitted contributions (articles and case studies) will be peer reviewed.

THE SUBMISSION PROCESS
Please note that:
Editors will communicate the first editorial decision to the authors, after the peer review process, which can result with the submission being accepted, accepted with minor corrections, accepted with major corrections or rejected. In case of acceptance with correction the re-submission will be peer reviewed before the second and final editorial decision is taken.
